I am a seventh grade teacher at Somerset Valley Middle School in Hartland, Maine. I have been the director of the middle school show chous for 15 years and co-directed at the high school level for 11 years. I am also the director of drama for the school.

Comeau--I thought that Caleb brought up a very good point when he sighted the research from the California school that showed that school uniforms have decreased the violence in their schools. It was certainly hard to rebut evidence like that.
I think that Sarrah A made a good point about home work. I think that teachers are giving the kids to much home work so Sarrah A made a good point.
i thought the school sucurity was the best because not haveing the sucurity is good cause the students feel invaded. and they cant do there work because they feel like they are being wathed...

I think ethan was good at bringing up the idea of usining wheeled back packs to avoid back problems and to lift them up or use duffle bags when raining or puddles.
i think Sara.A mad a good pint about your back because her spine is hurnt so she has a hard time carring things.
I think that homework (aggist) won. They had alot of informason. They had informson that said that hevey bags can caise back prombles and it takes away from going out side and have fun.

I thought that Matt Mower and Ethan White made a good point with "Books are to heavy and will hurt your back." That there is back packs that have wheels on them so they won't hurt your back.
I like when mrs.neal said about the cominte about the school security about when they have the backpake check they could take thing that bought to you and you are not the person did the thing.
I think that Matt and Etan brought up some good points about homework helping kids with skills they need to make it in the real world--especially the point about responsibility--you need to responsible if you want to succeed in life no matter what you choose to do.
i thaot that taylors was the best because he rely thaout that threwand he did a rely good job and he did the best he could and it looked like taylor rely ment what he was talking about once and a while and i liked it when joey said your life is more then a camerea. oh yeah mrs neal you should give me that green dress i looled like cheese
Adam--my rebuttal---I completely disagree--the kids will feel less uncomfortable knowing that they have protection. Maybe the ones who won't feel comfortable are the ones with something to hide in which case we might be able to notice that there is something going on with them and prevent something terrible from happening.
i thinf the debate about the laptops were really good because the fact that they said that laptops will freeze or get stuck because that really does happen a lot.
mrs. neal that is a very good point but what if you know that kid and he/her is shy and there is a cop walking arond and they feel like they cant be safe with that if they see them do somthing wrong...
I like what sarrah said about the homework giving you a not so straight spine because it is true i've seen it happen
I think that erin taylor had a very good point about school uniforms she said that thay help with kids so all of the kids are not looking at what there wearing and they care more about there school work.
i think tha having school security like metal detectors is not very good. becauswe if you are wearing belts, jewelry, watches or if you have braces they would set off the alarm and it would just take longer to get to class. other things that could set it off are hair clips and the buttons on your pants could also set it off. having the school security would just make people late to class because they arae wearing metal.
Sarrah A.---my rebuttal---i totally dissagree--- back packs with big books wont always give you back problems. they can be light books and you can also carry heavy bags and big book bags with the handle or drag the bags on the ground.

i think that lap tops are a bad thing because they take so long to do things and they are not realy GOOD at some things.
I think that school seurity (aggist) had a good point. Metal detecors are just a waste of time. You have to take of belts and other thing and what if you have something that you want no one to see. Its just invasion of privise.
i thought that tayla made a good point about laptops not being a good thing. because when they freeze up it takes a while to fix and by the time their done being fixed, your project or assignment or whatever your doing is overdue!!!!

I have a rebutill about school labtops. This is for agents. What if you get your labtop tooken away should you beable to get it back. I think that you should beable to take it back. This qustion was for Tayla and Brinty
I thought that Nokomis and Alisha (DEBATE- School Security)had a good point about how kids could be more off task looking out the window for policeman and that locker searches are a bad becuase it is a violation of personl property
kyle-my rebuttal-I disagree- If you have to many books and that hurts your back either you can use a duffle bag or a back pack with wheels on it. Or leave some of the work you dont need in your locker. Then you won't hurt your back carring everything
I think that nokomi had made a good point about the school security and medal detecters and how they bother kids when they are in school and it makes them feel destressed about the school work and it's a pain to have to deal with all the cops that hang around school and they are very annoyed by the cops that hang the high school or the security that you have to go through every morning.

Mr.Neal had a point of haveing police romeing around the halls could distract the kids from learning there school work and that would not be good when teast come they would fail.

yes they do keep kids from being distracted by what there wearing but everyone will look the same and they would havev to wash there uniform every night so its clean and some people may not beable to afford to do laundry every night.

i think that school security is a good thing because students will feel safe and they wont have to worry about the shootings and things like that also it will let the parents no that their children are safe and they can trust the school to protect their children.

i think that homework is a good thing because we need to practice these skills so we are prepard for everyday life.
cassie-rebuttle-metal detectors- I say that only the kids that have something to hide would be stressed about having to go through a metal detector.

This is a rebuttel for thomas why do you think that we should not do that because its not fair that the students that brake there computer because that is alot of money that our parents are paying with there taxes think about that thomas dream on.
i think that the uniform aginst is the one who won becasued what about the people that have little money they would have to go to a different school and they have no way to show what they are like when they have to wear school uniforms
But caleb c that is not the point the point is you wont get stupid we still learn in class so we dont need homework.
